Eating & Coffee

Rose’s suggestions:
The Nail Club – A café where you can paint your nails and have a cup of coffee for only 4 Euros.

Café des Chats – You can have a cup of coffee whilst cuddling a cat, it’s an adorable concept.

Sandra’s tips:
La Grande Mosquée – Hot mint tea with a scent of Paradise made of trees, art and birds next to a beautiful park.

Rachel’s favourites:
Campanella – This restaurant is my favourite place to eat!  The staff are so friendly, speak English if needed and the food it simply delicious. A beautifully cooked steak is only €16 and there is a range of dishes at a range of prices! I can not fault this restaurant. Situated near ecole militaire metro stop

Cojean –  This food spot situated in the 8th and many other locations around Paris. It is great for anyone who is vegetarian/vegan, wants gluten free or just want to eat really healthy meals or snacks! My favourite thing here are the smoothies they do.

Drinking & Dancing

Sandra’s tips:
L’Attirail – Not only is this the cheapest bar in Paris but it’s also a place where poor students get to enjoy writing anything they want on the bar walls, eating free potato wedges and nice bar tenders (yes this place is real!)

La Peña – For all those latin au pairs, or wanna bes, this is THE place to go salsa dancing (also merengue, bachata, reggaeton…). As a Colombian, I know what I’m talking about. Just show up and if it seems closed knock on the door to be let in; the party’s downstairs. And no, it’s not dodgy at all, just fun!

Rose’s suggestions:
– My local Irish pub in St Germaine en Laye.

Rex Club – Techno music club near Grands Boulevards.

Le Roy Henri – My local karaoke bar, so much fun!

Rose’s suggestions:
Balades Sonores – Awesome record and clothing shop near Le Bastille.

Bird On The Wire – Cute little shop which sells alternative gifts.

Cinemachine – Second hand vintage clothes shop in Montmartre.

Ex & Terr@ – Alternative shop which sells recycled magazine purses and bags.

Bershka – Nice and affordable clothes shop.

Lomography Shop – Since we don’t have one in London, the Lomo photography shop was really exciting for me to discover!

Rachel’s favourites:
Notre-Dame and Yogurt Factory   This area in general is a great place! It has many affordable shops and also a department store with many chic French boutiques. This area is also home to the yogurt factory, a tiny little store where you can choose your anything from yummy sauces to biscuity toppings and even fruit galore!

Relaxing & Exploring

Rachel’s favourites:
Château in Saint Germain en Laye – This castle and park is only five minutes train from me and it has the best views of Paris. The gardens are lovely and spacious, plus the people and atmosphere in Saint Germain is one of the best! Definitely visit!

Jardin Des Tuileries   Famous enough but can not be ignored on my list! This is a great place to grab a baguette and eat along the pond in the many chairs and benches it offers around the park.

Église Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis   A beautiful church situated in La Marais which is a lovely place to walk around. It has plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes to enjoy it is an area not to be missed. I like to go to this church just to sit, enjoy and have some quiet time by myself. It is really beautiful.
